It's no secret that the current economy is impacting everyone. And Compleat Comics is no exception. Costs (especially freight charges) have increased dramatically and recent sales simply have not kept pace.

So there is bad news and also good news.

As things stand right now, the Kahului location is closed. But Compleat Comics is not totally going away. All the regular, valued customers are important, and current business volume indicates a sustainable level without the costs associated with the Dairy Road storefront, provided a similar volume can be maintained.

Short background: New shipments, as you know, arrive each Friday. They must be paid for in full the following Monday or else the next shipment will be delayed, so a regular and steady clientele is vital.

Effective March 10, I will be continuing to offer new releases on the same arrival schedule out of my cottage in Pukalani until other arrangements can be made (details below).

The downside (at least for some): Comics and other products will be available only in Pukalani. It is requested that you park on the street and do not drive up the driveway.

The upside: Increased hours. 'Official' hours when the door will be open to all will be Noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, but are not limited to those hours. All that is asked is that if you plan on coming by on Mondays or at some time before noon or after 7:00 that you call first to confirm that I'll be here (details below). 99 per cent of the time, there will be no problem with you coming by just about anytime, but occasionally I may have appointments or errands, and would not want anyone to come by or make a special trip and find no one home.

For all intents and purposes, Compleat Comics will be operating as an internet business, with customers coming by to pick up product offered only online.

Pukalani Street is the road which runs in front of the Pukalani Terrace Center (where Foodland is).
The first cross street after the Pukalani Terrace Center is Iolani Street, and my cottage is the sixth lot on the left after the Iolani St. intersection. There is an empty lot on the right side of the street, and a dark green mailbox and a stone wall at the lot where the cottage is.

Please do not go to or disturb the main house on the lot (the one with the attached garage, that is not where I live). My small cottage is the one above the top of the driveway. Again, please, please park on the street and not in the driveway.
